When DiCarpio accepted the award that night, he mentioned these words “Two years ago, we found ourselves submerged deep in nature with all of its complications and all the beauty that it gave us cinematically,” “This film was about survival. It was about adaptation. It was about the triumph of the human spirit.”
The Revenant marks another success for the Mexican-born filmmaker Iñárritu since last year’s Oscar Awards he was able to won the best picture for his movie “Birdman”.

Matt Damon shared his thoughts as he accepted the award and it says “It’s literally been 18 years since I’ve been here doing this. With a little more context, I know how lucky I am to do this for a living. When people go see movies, it is just — it is somewhat rare. I’ve made a lot of movies that people just didn’t go see.”
Aside from these two movies, Golden Globes also give awards to the following actors and movies.
For best actress in drama category, a newcomer Brie Larson won the award from her movie “Room”. The movie is under the direction of Lenny Abrahamson. As for the best actress in a comedy film, the Hollywood darling Jennifer Lawrence won the title. This movie is based on a true story.
As the awards given went on, a sentimental win was witnessed by everyone and even garner a standing ovation coming from fellow actors at the Beverly Hilton. The veteran actor, Sylvester Stallone won as the best supporting actor in a movie for “Creed”. The veteran actor garnered praise for reinventing his iconic rocky Balboa character as an aging ex-fighter who is on his retirement but comes out to train an unproven young boxer.
“This is incredible. Last time I was here, that was 1977. I was kind of hit by a tumbleweed. It was a long time ago,” said Stallone, looking a bit dazed in accepting the award. “It’s like a different, different situation, and the view is so beautiful now. “Said while accepting the award.
