NBA All-Star Game 2016 – West Wins Over East

The 2016 NBA All-Star Game ended up with West winning over East at 196-173 score. The Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook got the NBA All-Star Game MVP Award. It’s his second time in a row win. Westbrook leads the west Team with 31 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. On the other hand, NBA star Kobe Bryant ended up with 10 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds.

In the East Team, Paul George of Indiana Pacers has the NBA All-Star Game scoring record with 41 points for the East Team and it’s just one-point away from the record of Wilt Chamberlin of 42 points.

So here’s a brief recap of the game:

First Quarter

The game started with LeBron James and Kobe Bryant with a jump ball at the center court and Kobe got the ball for the West. Westbrook had his first point if the game as the West took the lead, 2-0. However, the East came great with several 3-points and dunks making them coped up.

Just 4 minutes before the game ended, Kobe made his first basket point and the coaches for both teams changed the lineups several times. The quarter ended up with 43-40 in favor of the East.

Second Quarter

Most of this quarter, East Team had its lead maintained. However, the half-time ended up in favor of the West with 92-90.

In the quarter, the East was led by Paul George of Indiana Pacers with 16 points and for the West was Kawhi Leonard of San Antonio Spurs with a score of 13 points. Bryant finished the half-time with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

During the first two quarters, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant enjoyed several one-on-one. However, LeBron had the most favor over Kobe during their face-offs.

Third Quarter

The West controlled the game leading midway in third quarter as James Harden and others hitting from beyond the 3-pont parameter.

Aldridge LaMarcus former for Portland Trail Blazers forward typically played his typical LaMarcus Aldridge-esque All-Star Game performance with 4 points on 2-8 shooting, 4 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony had swatted his shot away around the rim.

The third quarter finish-off of with West leading the game with a score of 145-136.

Fourth Quarter

In the fourth quarter, the West had a really good time with Westbrook come great finishing the NBA All-Star 2016 game with 196-173. West defeated the East. However, Paul George led all the scorers with 41 points.

Kobe’s Final Game

This game is said to be Kobe Bryant’s final NBA All-Star game. Prior to the opening of the game, NBA great Magic Johnson made tribute videos to the 37-year old NBA star. The tribute featured some career highlights with messages from various fellow NBA players.

Last November, Kobe made an announcement that this would be his last season. Bryant was quoted saying, “I just want to thank you guys for all of your support for all these years.” Bryant told the Toronto crowd and a global television audience.
