China's Vice President to visit FijiWednesday, February 04, 2009
The Vice President and number two man in China, Xi Jinping, will be visiting Fiji soon. Government Spokesperson Major Neumi Leweni says because of the global importance of the Vice President and very tight security, few details of his visit are being released at this time. "Yes China’s Vice President will be arriving in the country only the foreign affairs will inform the media and the public when he will be arriving for security reasons and only we can confirm that he will be coming to the country when and where that we will leave to foreign affairs and the Chinese embassy." While the itinerary of the Vice Presidential trip remains under security wraps, he could be here for a number of reasons. Recently China promised million in aid for housing in Fiji, now even more urgently needed due to the losses of the recent flooding. Fiji Broadcasting Corporation |
