Typhoid outbreak in TaveuniTuesday, July 14, 2009
Ministry spokesperson Iliesa Tora said a team from the Northern Division visited Taveuni and identified several cases of Typhoid. The source of the problem seems to be the drinking water which is not suitable for consumption. Tora said the team from the North will be filling a report with the Ministry’s Head Office and a action plan will be set to ensure that typhoid is eliminated in that area.
