Casinos in FijiFriday, October 02, 2009
The Fiji Council of Social Services says a Social Impact Assessment must be done by a group of independent Fiji professionals before any decision is made on the setting up of Casinos in Fiji. The Council of Social Services also welcomes the government’s desire to discuss the issue of Casinos dispassionately. In a statement issued today, the Council of Social Services director Hassan Khan even suggests that while discussing the ideas of Casinos, Government should also consider discussing the sale of marijuana – which it says could provide extra revenue for Fiji. Khan says while Government wishes to discuss the setting up of Casinos without religious, health or criminal fervor – they should also wish to discuss Marijuana production in the same manner.
