Dialogue welcomed says PMWednesday, November 04, 2009
Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama says Government still welcomes dialogue between with Australia and New Zealand. Bainimarama maintains - dialogue is possible with the two neighboring countries despite their political differences. “Like Australia and New Zealand always say that we always want dialogue and we always continue to ensure that doors are open for dialogue.” Bainimarama has ruled out the possibility of the closure of the two embassies after yesterday’s development. “I don’t think they (Australia and NZ) going to close the High Commission. I think what we decided yesterday was to send the High Commissioners home not to close the High Commission.” Meanwhile the New Zealand High Commission was closed for business today whilst operation at the Australian High Commission was normal.
