Five Sri Lankans join Fiji judiciary

Amidst the controversy of their appointment five Sri Lankan judicial officers took their commission in the Fiji judiciary at a swearing in ceremony presided over by the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau at Government House this afternoon.

Two Sri Lankan judges and three resident magistrates were sworn in today.

One of those sworn in today is madam magistrate Kavindra Nanayakkara who is the lone woman in this group.

These five were seconded by the Sri Lankan Government to join the Fiji judiciary.
