According to the FSC around one point six million ton cane has been crushed and the Penang Sugar mill in Rakiraki has already ceased crushing for the season. Out of this one point six million ton cane crushed - around one hundred and twenty eight thousand ton sugar has been manufactured so far this season. Meanwhile the estimated two point four million ton cane expected during this season is likely to be reduced to two point one million tons by the time crushing ends for the season.
