Taxi drivers cautioned

As the festive season is fast approaching The Fiji Taxi Union says taxi drivers should be vigilant while providing services as it’s during this time of the year incidents of looting taxi driver’s increase and in some cases the drivers lose their lives or get badly injured.

Union general secretary Rishi Ram says the best thing to do to avoid being targeted is to take precaution from now.

“I urge all the taxi drivers of Fiji wide please refrain from carrying large sums of money and also refrain from going to Crime prone areas taxi drivers themselves know which areas are crime prone and if you are in doubt please get help from Police. And please safety wise please don’t carry large sum of money in your pocket because your safety is more than anything else.”
