PSC sends more for trainingWednesday, November 25, 2009
The Public Service Commission has stepped up on efforts to ensure all government agencies are managed by well-trained leaders who can take the civil service forward during challenging times. In this regard 17 civil servants will be attending a leadership workshop in Japan from the end of this morning to next month. The PS for PSC Parmesh Chand says that in Government’s new Strategic Framework for Change, one of the priorities of the Public Service Commission, is the training of leaders. The two-week leadership training course in Japan has particular emphasis on leadership in the South Pacific countries, and the participants are expected to be upskilled in some of the more modern styles of management and leadership. According to Chand, given the challenges of globalization, the role of leaders in the civil service has broadened immensely. Fiji Broadcasting Corporation |
