TWU negotiates over hotel arrangementsThursday, November 26, 2009
The Transport Workers Union is currently negotiating with Air Pacific management over hotel arrangements for cabin crew in Hong Kong, as the airline is to begin service between Fiji and Hong Kong from the 3rd of next month. Union general secretary Kamlesh Kumar said negotiation with the company is progressing well. However Kumar said the union hopes that this matter should be resolved before the Fiji Hong Kong route begins. "Our cabin crew members would be required to overnight in Hong Kong and we need to have a hotel arrangement in place in accordance with our collective agreement and at the same time goes with the hotel arrangement is meal allowances which will be worked out on a formula contained in the collective agreement." Kumar says the union is confident that this route will benefit Air Pacific and Fiji as a whole. Fiji Broadcasting Corporation |
