Transport Workers Union general secretary Kamlesh Kumar says the revelation was not that shocking since not much steps were taken to revive the its operation. “Now it did not come as a shock to us because there was very little or nothing done to revive the company but what we did we quickly wrote to the Transport Minister who is currently in the country seeking a compensation claim for the 170 workers who were laid off from job with effect from 1st of May 2009. we have written to the Transport Minister and it has been confirmed to us that the letter compensation claim has been given to him now we are waiting for his response.” Fiji Broadcasting Corporation |
