Fiji PM assassination case adjournedMonday, February 08, 2010
The case of eight men accused of trying to assassinate Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has been adjourned to tomorrow after the head of Military Intelligence Major Isireli Narawa failed to turn up to court today. Major Narawa who is a prosecution witness didn’t inform the DPP’s David Toganivalu or the court the reasons of his being absent. Justice Paul Madigan asked that the DPP lawyer find out why Major Narawa didn’t inform the court of his absence. Naitasiri high chief Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, five former CRW soldiers, Colonel Metuisela Mua and Sivaniolo Naulago are being tried for allegedly plotting to assassinate Commodore Bainimarama in 2007.
