Fiji PM assassination plot trial adjourned to tomorrow

Tuesday, February 09, 2010

The conspiracy to assassinate the Prime Minister trial against Naitasiri high chief Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, Colonel Metuisela Mua, Sivaniolo Naulago and five former CRW soldiers will continue tomorrow.

This was after the court ruled that it will proceed with the trial even though the defense lawyers haven’t completed their cross examination of a witness.

The defense strongly protested to the court that they should resume the trial with the cross examination of prosecution witness Major Isireli Narawa, who has been sick in the past two days.

Justice Paul Madigan ruled the trial will continue with other witnesses to take the stand tomorrow.
