$1.5M for textbooks assistanceTuesday, February 09, 2010
The exercise began last year with about $1m taken from its annual budgetary allocation. The Ministry used that money to buy books from the Government Supplies and Government Printer. This year, the Ministry allocated another $400,000 towards the purchase of books by private authors – locally, purchase of books from NZ and payment for printing of textbooks. More then $200,000 from this year’s allocation will cater for the provision of books destined for the Eastern, Northern and part of the Western education districts.
