Fiji FA coaching director awaits approvalTuesday, February 09, 2010
Fiji Football Association Technical Coaching Director, Saiyad Ali is awaiting approval from the Board of Control for the release of 40 players for next South Pacific Games. Ali says it is important to secure the release of these players and prepare them well ahead of the Games if we are to win Gold. “It is important to start preparation now if we are to win back Gold at the next South Pacific Games. I have drafted about 40 players from last year after the major soccer tournaments like the Fiji Fact and IDC. The reason being that if we do win Gold we can move and get to play against the likes of New Zealand and Australia and should we do better we can get to play against teams from the wider Asian region.” Ali says at the moment he is awaiting approval from the Board of Control before taking the next step. “At the moment I’m just waiting for the approval from the Board of Control before I can go ahead and name the 44 players and get them to camp and start preparing now.” Fiji Broadcasting Corporation |
