The Native Land Trust Board has endorsed proposals by a Chinese delegation for the production of ethanol from cassava.

The delegation is led by Fiji’s Ambassador to China Sir James Ah Koy.

Board solicitor Ro Alipate Mataitini says the new venture is tailored for native landowners.

“The Board also noted the current visit by the Chinese delegation promoting ethanol produced from cassava, particularly the enthusiasm shown by Sir James Ah Koy, who was leading the delegation, and his contention that the new venture would be tailor made for landowners.”
